Words that worked: Sleepeezee

A bedtime story about how I didn't rest until everything on Sleepeezee's revamped website was just right. That's a lie. I did sleep. But poor punctuation has been known to give me night terrors.

Sleepeezee has been making mattresses since 1924, so it knows a thing or two about sleep. I’ve been sleeping since 1984, so while I’m a bit behind them in terms of time spent, I’m definitely dedicated to the cause.

After working with Sleepeezee’s marketing team on refining internal documents, I was excited to contribute to their website revamp in 2021. The bulk of the content was already in place, including range and product descriptions, hospitality service pages, and company pages, but it needed a tonal refresh and a thorough copy-edit.

I brought cohesion and consistency, building a more detailed style guide to support the written content and future-proofing the website. I made lengthy descriptions more concise, and weaved in Sleepeezee’s bright and cheery tone.

‘Sarah has a wealth of copywriting experience that has been put to good practice on a variety of pieces across our website, internal documents and press pieces. She really has an excellent eye for detail and is able to translate a mountain of words into a great piece of creative copywriting – whatever the subject. She has never missed a deadline and is a joy to work with.’

For a company that checks every detail of its products for consistency and quality, it’s comforting to know its website meets the same exacting standards. Right, time for a lie down.
